OMINO in Nature Human Behaviour
We are delighted to announce that our letter Protect our environment from information overload appeared today online in the correspondence section of Nature Human Behavior journal.
This contribution can be regarded as a position paper of the OMINO project, pointing out that information overload (IOL) cannot be examined solely in a closed system. Instead, we advocate for a multilevel approach where the key aspect is to discover interactions between different layers (individuals, groups, society) and discover possible scenarios of the spread of IOL that in turn would lead to creating countermeasures to prevent it. However, our article - in line with its title - delivers also a clear message that information space is an intrinsic part of our environment. Therefore polluting it with data should be treated in the same way as contaminating air, water, or soil. Check the full version of the paper.
